Path 1: The Free Rough Self-Check
This costs nothing and takes a few minutes. Open your electrical panel and read the amperage printed on the main breaker at the top - commonly 100A, 150A, or 200A. Then walk the house and list your biggest fixed, always-on electric loads: electric range, electric dryer, electric water heater, central air conditioning or electric heat.
If the main breaker is on the smaller side (say, 100A) and several of those big loads are already electric, that is a signal worth paying attention to. If the main breaker is 200A and your big loads are mostly gas, that is a signal the other direction.
Why this is only a screen, not an answer
A real NEC Article 220 load calculation adds up every load in volt-amperes, applies the demand factors the code allows (for example, the first 8,000 VA at 100% and the remainder at 40% under 220.83(A)), and adds your specific EV charger's amperage at full rated load. Eyeballing the breaker size and appliance list does none of that math. It can point you toward "probably fine" or "probably worth checking further," but it cannot produce a verdict you can act on, and it can miss a panel that looks fine on paper but is tighter than it looks once the real numbers are added up.
