ChargeRight (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Assessment inputs (home square footage, appliance data, panel rating, vehicle selection)
- Electrical panel photos you upload for AI analysis
- Contact information (email address for support communications)
- Promo codes you enter at checkout
Payment information:
Payments are processed by Stripe. ChargeRight does not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVV. Stripe may share with us your name, email, and the last four digits of your card for transaction records.
Automatically collected information:
- Device type and browser information (user agent)
- IP address
- Pages visited and interactions within the service
- Terms acceptance timestamp and version (recorded at checkout)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate your NEC 220.82 load calculation report
- To run AI analysis on your panel photos using Google Gemini
- To process your payment through Stripe
- To communicate support updates or service notices
- To improve the reliability and accuracy of our assessment service
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- To maintain a legal audit trail of terms acceptance
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We share your data with the following service providers solely to operate ChargeRight. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- Stripe — processes your payment. Stripe Privacy Policy

4. Cookies and Tracking
ChargeRight uses essential cookies and localStorage only to maintain your assessment session and remember your preferences (such as cookie consent). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not run targeted advertising.
5. Data Retention
We retain your assessment data (including panel photos) for up to two years to provide customer support, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. After this period, data may be deleted or anonymized. You may request early deletion at any time by contacting support — we will process deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, Firebase Security Rules to control database access, and secure storage for uploaded photos. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request deletion of your personal data
- Opt out — opt out of non-essential communications

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell your data
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

9. Children's Privacy
ChargeRight is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovery, as required by applicable law. Notification will be sent to the email address associated with your assessment, if available, or posted as a notice on the ChargeRight website.
11. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals to websites. Because there is no industry-standard technology for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not currently respond to them. As stated above, we do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
12. Geographic Scope
ChargeRight is operated from the United States and is intended for use by residents of the United States. NEC (National Electrical Code) calculations apply to US residential electrical systems. If you access the service from outside the United States, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of ChargeRight after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
